Is your child interested in singing? Then the Junior choir is for them!
Junior Choir – 6-6.30pm Fridays in Term Time
Junior Choir is a fantastic opportunity for children aged 7 and above to discover the joy of singing and become more involved in the life of Dorchester Abbey. Rehearsals take place on Fridays from 6.00–6.30pm during term time, providing a fun and welcoming environment where children can learn new music, develop their singing skills and make friends. No previous musical experience is required—just enthusiasm and a willingness to join in!
Members of the Junior Choir sing at one Abbey service each month, as well as at special services throughout the year, such as Christmas and other important celebrations. Being part of the choir helps children grow in confidence, teamwork and self-expression, while also developing listening skills, concentration and musical ability. Many children enjoy the sense of achievement that comes from performing as part of a group and contributing to worship in a meaningful way. Most of all, Junior Choir is a place where children can have fun, build friendships and experience the excitement of making music together in the beautiful setting of the Abbey.
