Dorchester Abbey’s Family Service takes place in the Abbey on the second Sunday of every month and is designed to be welcoming, relaxed and accessible for all ages. The service has a more informal ‘café-style’ atmosphere, with refreshments served partway through the service, giving everyone a chance to chat, get to know one another and enjoy being together as a church family. We want children to feel that they truly belong and are an important part of worship, so we encourage them to be actively involved through readings, prayers, discussions and other activities whenever possible. There is also a craft activity available at every Family Service, helping children engage with the theme of the day in a creative and hands-on way. Whether you come regularly or are visiting for the first time, everyone is warmly welcome.
