Museum Reopens for 2009!
The museum and tearoom will open for Summer 2009 on 11th April.
We have some wonderful new displays this year, including some Roman pots dating from 70-150 AD that have miraculously remained almost perfect, despite being used as flower pots since their discovery in 1934!
Dr Booth, of Oxford Archaeology, says, "The pots are Roman grey-ware ... [found] just north of the walled town and in a classic position for a cemetery, which could explain the completeness of the vessels."
You can see the pots and read more about their history at the museum.
Don't forget, the tea room also opens on 11th April. Check out the opening times for both the Museum and Tea Room before paying us a visit.
