The Lunch Club was started in 1977 to enable many retired people living on their own in Dorchester to meet for a good home-cooked meal, company and friendship. The meal comprises an appetising two-course hot lunch, plus tea or coffee, prepared by volunteer caterers, all for only £3.00 per head.

We meet every Wednesday from October to March. For the past 30 years we have met in the Abbey Tea Room, but from October we are moving to the more spacious venue provided by the Village Hall. We seat 20 people each week, on a 2-week rotation.
