Rector of Dorchester installed as Canon of Christ Church

The Rector, The Revd Sue Booys, and three other diocesan priests were recently installed as honorary canons. Following ancient practice the candidates first took the Oath of Allegiance and Declaration of Assent, and then during Evensong by the Bishop of Oxford they were installed as canons of the Cathedral Church by the Dean of Christ Church.

There are now three Rectors of Dorchester living who are canons of the cathedral - Raymond Nichols (installed as Canon in 1984), John Crowe (2004) and now Canon Sue Booys.

(L to R) Revd. Jonathan Wilmot, Revd Nick Parish, the Bishop of Oxford, Revd Allen Walker and Revd. Sue Booys
