Key Stages 1 & 2

Many aspects of Key Stages 1 & 2 can be covered singly or in combination as the Abbey offers considerable scope for cross-curricular studies, adding extra dimensions to the topics studied.

I felt so small because the church is tall. It made me feel safe when we stuck together in groups. I thought it was magnificent because it was so bright and wonderful. My favourite part was to pick up one of the beautiful stones

NEW!: Anglo-Saxon Experience Days

An exciting innovation to link to the new Primary Curriculum!
Our Anglo-Saxon Experience Day run in conjunction with the Hurst Water Meadow is firmly embedded in the requirements of the new Key Stage 1/2 National Curriculum.
Dorchester was a highly significant area in the Anglo-Saxon period, located within the Wessex kingdom and part of the early
Christian missionary work with the arrival of Bishop Birinus in 635. Anglo-Saxon artefacts have been found in Dorchester and
its environs.
A full or half day of study is possible with a range of activities and options available to choose from to suit your own specific
curriculum requirements.  Read more about it and download your leaflet here
We have already run a number of very successful Anglo Saxon days – read all about our day with Wood Farm School here.

Lent and Easter Themed Visits
